Exceeded expectations
After many years of home barista-ing and many machines, I wanted a change: I wanted a cleaner counter without knock boxes and grounds everywhere and Cafiza and backflushing and mess. It has exceeded my expectations. I drink a traditional cappuccino. Yes, the foam is the tall style shaving foam, rather than the silky microfoam, but I've learned to live with that, and the Delonghi foams better than my Gaggias, though it takes a bit longer. The steam wand is very easy to clean and does not clog. Setting the machine to the finest grind, and setting it to the highest strength and highest temp, my cappas are perfect -- absolutely delicious. Yes, it's essentially thermoblock and pressurized, but I prefer the cappas' flavor to what I had with a much more expensive setup. The machine holds plenty of beans, and cleans itself superbly every time. It's a design marvel and easy to use. I'm happy I didn't get the model with the milk container, because the steaming is very easy to do myself, and...

I have never had a better cup of coffee!
This machine is AMAZING! I have never tasted smoother, richer coffee ever ... not even in coffee shops. It is so easy to use and within minutes you can have espresso, latte, cappuccino or americano coffee. I used to use a french press, have tried ordinary percolators and have used a pod machine, but this coffee maker gets 10 out of 5 stars if I could rate it as such! You can make coffee from beans (the machine grinds as much as is required automatically) or you can add ground beans yourself. You can choose which strength of coffee you want as well as which volume. I will never go back to the other methods of coffee making! The only thing is ... we're all drinking way too much delicious coffee now!
An excellent machine!
I have had this machine for nearly a year and it has been a great purchase for me--like most things, there is a bit of a learning curve but it is fairly steep. The espresso made is quite good and the machine is very solid. The foaming process for cappucinos and lattes is very easy to learn and makes a very attractive drink. Delonghi offers a two year warranty which is the best I've seen--fortunately I haven't needed it yet, but it's nice to know it's there. The only downside at all is that it is a bit loud and the water reservoir requires fairly frequent filling, but neither one of these bothers me very much at all--I mention it simply for the sake of completeness. For the money, I think this machine is probably the best on the market, especially if you like the convenience and simplicity of not having to grind your own beans, tamp, etc. Highly recommended!

Delonghi coffee maker
This is our second coffee maker by Delonghi. We love the front-load style. We had a 2 instances of leaking such as is DeLonghi DCF2212T 12-Cup Glass Carafe Drip Coffee Maker, Blackdescribed in former revues. With the first coffee maker, we adjusted our thinking to make sure the access was completely open. After that, we had no problem. We didn't like the lip of the carafe because it inevitably dripped on the counter unless you poured extrememly slow.
The newer model of the same coffee maker has been a dream. First thing we noticed was the redesigned lip on the carafe. It has not dripped one bit. Also, even though the design of the front loader looks the same, we have not had one instance of leaking. The coffee comes out too hot to drink for me, but my husband loves it that way...so it's just about a perfect coffee maker for us. Nice looking, but carafe drips.
I purchased this item based on good reviews, but I was disappointed that the carafe drips onto the counter when pouring, even when being very careful. Also, the feature that allows you to pour while it's still brewing doesn't work very well. I do like it's design and that it makes 14 cups.

Fantastic
I don't actually own this product myself, but I have a friend that does and I've used it on occasion. I look forward to going to their house just to brew myself a cup of coffee! This coffee maker is quite compact in size. It takes beans and ground. And the best part, no coffee filter required!

Pros: It is very easy to use. The first thing it does when you turn it on(and off) is it rinses the filters. After that, the screen shows you options to personalize the taste either: extra mild, mild, strong, extra strong or standard, as well as the amount you want which are: espresso, long, extra long or standard. There is also a dedicated button for cappuccino and hot water only. Coffee that is used during the brew is discarded into a pull-out tray in a disc shape form, making it easy to throw away. It notifies you when water is low, when coffee beans are low, and when the discard tray is full.

Cons: When I was asked, I thought this fancy machine was around $300, but...

Worked for a while then several problems.
Although it was a refurb I thought it would last longer. Beans wouldnt go into grinder without help, one side of the cup warmer got so hot you couldnt touch it. I was able to return for full refund but very disappointed in the quality of the machine as I have had another Delonghi that is 4 years old and still pretty darn reliable.

Great Machine!
I am surprised that I am the first reviewer of this great machine. I just received mine yesterday. I bought it from another vender, but since I typically do most of my shopping via Amazon I thought I would share my experience thus far. Overall, this Super-Automatic is simple to use and makes great coffee, lattes, and cappuccino's. My advice though....WATCH THE DVD BEFORE USING!!! I thought I had this thing in the bag.. how difficult could it be to use??....Well it isn't difficult to use, but there are a few things I did that had I watched the video all the way through I would not have done. For example, when setting how fine or coarse you want the beans you have to adjust the dial one notch at a time while the grinder is running (still doesn't make sense to me). I paused the video before waiting for the lady to finish talking on the topic and just moved it a few notches towards fine...oops! Oh well, doesn't seem to have adversely effected anything, but now I know. Contrary...

Great and few problems
My wife and I have been making 6-8 cups a day for 6 months. We only ever make cappuccino and the 'fire and forget' button is priceless. The froth is good albeit with slightly larger bubbles than from conventional froth. We always place the milk container in the fridge and so far we have had no problems with the seal. And, the milk container can be purchased separately at a reasonable price (so my wife says).

One slight niggle we have had lately is that sometimes the door opens during the coffee making process. I have cleaned several times but to no avail. And it is difficult to find out what is pushing on the door from the inside (it is closed :-). But I guess we eventually will figure it out.

Some reviewers have complained about the coffee being too cold. I currently live in Australia and previously lived 6 years in Italy where they serve the genuine cappuccino. Outside Italy I have often had the opposite problem, where inexperienced barista's make the coffee...
Good and not so good
The Good - This espresso machine is very easy to use but can be intimidating at first. My husband and I use it several times a day and we have had no problems with it since we bought it at least 6 months ago.
The Bad - It doesn't make a hot cup of coffee. It makes a warm cup of coffee. I take coffee with me to work every day in a travel cup and by the time I get to work (15 minutes) I have to heat it in the microwave because it is cold. My last cheap espresso maker would make a cup of coffee so hot that I could savor it for an hour. Very frustrating to me.
